It is called Integral Yoga because we
integrate everything: body mind and spirit
- Sri Swami Satchidananda
The main purpose of yoga is to calm the
thought waves of the mind
- Patanjali
Our yoga is an international style of yoga, brought to this country in the 1960's by Sri Swami Satchidananda, beloved Gurudev. You will find classes in South America, Asia, Europe, Australia, Central America in countless countries practicing this classic authentic style of yoga. We strive for the results of pure yoga: building a healthy body and mind and strengthening that natural and inextricable connection of mind body and spirit. Our classes are suitable for beginners to Intermediate students. Beginner's are a specialty! We teach form and function in the positions, and also through the regular practice. Dozens of our students have gone on to be teachers as well.
We are now offering an Iyengar Style class. This classl is more interactive and the poses are held longer, with more emphasis on the standing asanas.
Christine actively studied dance for 20 years with a group that competed and entertained at various functions throughout the Delaware Valley, this activity of movement segued into a personal yoga practice. Seeking teachers (mostly in the Iyengar school of yoga) in many states and countries, her love for yoga has literally taken her around the world, studying and teaching in Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia, even Tibet. “I have met wonderful teachers and students on the Path, all generously sharing their knowledge and experience.”
Christine received her teacher's training in 1994 from the highly respected Integral Yoga Academy in Buckingham VA. She considers herself very blessed to be taught by first generation swamis at the ashram, “they gave me such a deeper understanding of the true nature of yoga, and my hope is to pass this on to my students.”
